Privacy Policy
Last updated: March 8, 2026
Perfect AIm LLC ("we", "our", "us") operates the CalVue AI mobile application. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our app.
1. Information We Collect
CalVue AI is designed with privacy at its core. We collect minimal data and store it on your device.
- Personal Information: Name, age, height, weight, biological sex, and nutrition goals you provide during onboarding. This data is stored locally on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework.
- Food & Nutrition Data: Food entries, calorie counts, macro breakdowns, and meal history. All stored locally on your device.
- Photos: Food photos and body composition selfies are processed by our AI service for analysis. Photos are sent to our secure API for processing via OpenAI and Anthropic (Claude) and are not stored on our servers after analysis is complete.
- Health Data: If you enable Apple Health integration, we read and write dietary data (calories, protein, carbs, fat) and body weight. This data is governed by Apple's HealthKit privacy policies.
- Voice Data: Voice recordings for voice logging are processed on-device using Apple's Speech Recognition framework. Transcribed text may be sent to our AI service for food parsing.
2. How We Use Your Information
- Nutrition Tracking: To calculate your daily calorie and macro targets, track your food intake, and provide personalized insights.
- AI Analysis: To analyze food photos, estimate body composition, parse voice descriptions, and generate weekly coaching insights.
- Improvement: Aggregated, anonymized usage patterns may be used to improve our AI models and app experience.
3. Data Storage & Security
All personal data, food logs, and nutrition history are stored locally on your device using SwiftData. We do not maintain a backend database of your personal information.
When you use AI-powered features (photo analysis, voice logging, body fat estimation, weekly insights), data is transmitted securely via HTTPS to our API service hosted on Cloudflare Workers. Photos and text are processed in real-time and are not retained after the response is generated.
4. Third-Party Services
- OpenAI: We use OpenAI's GPT-4 Vision API for food photo analysis and nutrition estimation. Data sent to OpenAI is subject to OpenAI's usage policies.
- Anthropic: We use Anthropic's Claude Vision API as a secondary AI model for cross-referencing food analysis and improving accuracy. Data sent to Anthropic is subject to Anthropic's usage policies.
- Open Food Facts: Barcode lookups use the Open Food Facts database, an open-source food product database.
- RevenueCat: Subscription management is handled by RevenueCat. They process purchase transactions but do not have access to your nutrition or health data.
- Apple HealthKit: Health data integration is handled entirely through Apple's HealthKit framework and is subject to Apple's privacy policies.
5. Data Sharing
We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties. We do not share your food logs, nutrition data, photos, or health information with any third party except as required for AI analysis as described above.
6. Your Rights
You have full control over your data:
- Delete Data: You can clear your food log or reset all data at any time from Settings > Data.
- Health Data: You can revoke HealthKit access at any time through iOS Settings > Health > CalVue AI.
- Photos: You can revoke camera and photo library access through iOS Settings > CalVue AI.
7. Children's Privacy
CalVue AI is not intended for use by children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected in the app with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of the app constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
